What's new

Besides that we changed our name from Aircraft InfoBase to Avionicks and that we changed our website design, there are also some other changes in the features we provide. Read about them here.

Unlimited and Large photos

Perhaps the best new feature of our website is that we no longer have only two photos per aircraft. This also means that all photos that are uploaded remain online. Next to this, you can now view photos at large. Just click on a photo in the search results and you will the photo will be shown at a resolution of 1024 pixels wide. Simply great! (literally) Browse through the photos!

Airports

Our database has been enhanced in a few ways, but the most noticable for you is the fact that it is now shown at which airport a photo was taken and search for other photos taken at the same airport (or in the same country). Uploaders of new photos can now also specify this during their upload. For the photos that were already online, we have tried our best to determine as many airports as possible belonging to them. However, because of the large quantity of photos, and the lack of information on the location for most of them, there are still a lot of photos with an unknown airport. Therefore, you can help us!

If you have photos in our database that do not yet state at which airport the photo was taken and if you would like to add the airport at which it was taken, please contact us using the contact form and state the airport at which your photos were taken. If you took your photos at multiple airports, please state the date(s) belonging to each airport too (and if you made photos on the same date at different airports, please state the registration of the aircraft too). We will be very grateful!

Top Yesterday, Top Rated and Screener's Favorites

As you might have noticed already, our homepage now features the best photos of yesterday, as well as a selection of the highest rated photos and photos selected by our screeners that they rate among their favorites. Rate photos

Not only have we got large(r) photos on our website, you also have the option to rate them! Every day, the ratings of that day are counted. A selection of the photos with the highest rating (5 stars) are shown on the homepage. Everybody can be famous! :-)

Enhanced uploading

Uploading has become even more easy than before! You can now use an auto-fill option, using the aircraft registration and (if you are uploading a photo too) the airport at which you took your photo. The upload form will then fill in most information for you! Furthermore, uploading has become more 'Web 2.0'. More intuitive, more user friendly.

Photo uploading has been improved as well. No longer the need to have the exact 3:2 or 4:3 proportions in your photo! Anything in between, and everything with a margin of 5 pixels smaller/larger than the 3:2/4:3 ratio will be accepted as well! Upload your names and photos now!

Airline name lists

What used to be the Airline articles is now available for every airline on our website. Just select your airline and all names will be shown in a two-column list, ordered per generic aircraft type. Very handy if you want to take a list with all the names of an airline with you when you go spotting. See it yourself!
